Mike is one of my older brothers and I can thank him for introducing me to the gym when I was just 16 years old, there is an embarrassing story about that which is a story for another time, now we have switched roles and I am proud to have been training him for the last 2 years.
The Problem
Running his own business and never saying no to a challenge, Mike is one of the busiest people I know. A few years ago he came to me asking for help. With his busy schedule he wanted support getting ready for his 30th birthday.
Knowing his limited time he wanted to give someone else the responsibility of organising the sessions, establishing the nutrition plan, and essentially handing over the organisational responsibilities to someone in order to free up his mind to focus on other areas.
The Solution
Working on a semi 1-2-1 basis (one session a week) Mike and I created a plan that would work with his busy work life keeping him on top form in business meetings and on the rugby pitch.
A key aspect of this was to keep his energy levels high. This meant a balance of macro nutrients that favoured carbohydrates.
Remember, carbs are not the devil!
“I couldn’t be happier with the results, its not always easy to work with your brother but he was great throughout the whole process.
Working around my schedule and explaining the science behind it all made it much easier.” – Mike Ellis
In the run up to the photo shoot, Mike not only managed several social occasions but was sunning it up in Mauritius just a month before and celebrating getting engaged with his now fiance.
Mike is proof that personal fitness goals can be achieved what every your lifestyle and day to day activities.
