Ant collared me in the gym half way through a session, at the time he was struggling for direction, a goal and just general motivation. He had no real plan when it came to his eating and training. He was stuck.
A PT himself, and a fireman, his fitness is critical to his job.
We sorted out some sessions, focusing on weaker areas that have lagged. We then developed our programming around compound movements, as these offer the most bang for our buck.
Because of his job, we had to manipulate his diet to suit his work and retain cognitive function, with him being In a position that could affect others whilst working. This meant different calorie intakes throughout the week rather than a standard single goal on a daily basis. These extra calories give the ability for the body to relieve some stress and allow a small rest-bite through what was a long dieting phase.
His strength increased massively whilst burning as many calories as possible through weights sessions. When coupled with some cardio and home exercises, well… you can see the results speak for themselves.
